Peggy Dean Herbert, 87, of Tinton Falls, N.J., died March 17, 2014, at home in her beloved husband's arms. Born in Quincy, she was a daughter of James and Jessie Bakeer Wilmeth. She lived here until the completion of St. Mary School of Nursing in 1947 and her marriage to Dr. William A. Herbert. They moved to his hometown of Avon, N.J., where she worked as a nurse at Fitkin Hospital. She raised four sons, served on the Avon Board of Education and attended Avon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, bowling and golfing at Spring Lake Golf Club in New Jersey and the Atlantis Golf Club in Florida. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William A. Herbert Sr.; three sons, George Herbert and his wife, Barbara, of Wall, N.J., Richard Herbert and his wife, Jane, of Neptune City, N.J., and Robert Herbert of Neptune City. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She also leaves her beloved sister, Harriet Adams of Quincy. She was preceded in death by a son, William A. Herbert Jr., and a sister, Annette Mollenhauer. She will be forever loved and cherished by those who remain, who take comfort in knowing she is in God's hands. SERVICES: Private.
