PALMYRA, Mo. -- Robert A. "Bob" Bross, 79, of Palmyra, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2013) as a result of an automobile accident in Palmyra. Bob was born June 25, 1933, in Maywood to Harry Christian and Leah Lillian Gash Bross. Bob married Sally Ann Wuestenfeld in Hernando, Miss., in 1958. She survives of the home. Mr. Bross was a Marion County grain farmer and cattleman. He was a 1951 graduate of Palmyra High School. After graduation, Mr. Bross served in the United States Army in a field artillery unit both stateside and in Germany. Bob served on the Missouri Watershed Board through the Missouri Department of Conservation and was a member of the Missouri Cattleman's Association. He was a Christian by faith. Survivors include a son, Steven L. Bross and wife, Barbara of Palmyra; granddaughters, Emily, Lisa, and Macy Bross, all of Palmyra; great-grandson, Connor Bross of Palmyra; sister, Doris Mahsman of Palmyra; sister-in-law, Betty Bross of Palmyra; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Denny Bross; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Mahsman. SERVICES: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra with the Rev. Dewayne Larenson conducting. Burial with military honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Casketbearers are Mike Drebes, Bill Gard, Allen Gard, Greg Foster, Charlie Bross, Howard Disselhorst, Jim Drescher and Wayne Bier. Honorary bearers are Lester Boettcher, Leon Drebes, Jim Cissna, Earl Gard, Dr. Bill Wommack, John Bross, the morning Hardee's Coffee Group and the Friday Evening Social Club. VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Palmyra Booster Club to be used for Lady Panthers softball program. ARRANGEMENTS: Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
