Robert E. Halle, 86, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of 1720 Hamann Lane, died Friday (Oct. 17, 2013) in the home. He was born April 12, 1927, in Quincy, a son of Marvin and Catherine Boden Halle. Mr. Halle had retired from Gardner Denver after 32 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by three children, Linda Stange and her husband, Dale, of West Paducah, Ky., Kenneth Halle of Quincy and Karen Warner and her husband, Tony, of Quincy; 15 grandchildren, Nicole Halle, Amanda Halle, Erica Halle, Julie Good and her husband, James, Lucy Halle, Bianca Halle, Crystal Rogers, Jeremy Rodgers and his wife, Stephanie, Eric Norsworthy, Matt Halle and his wife, Sherri, Amy Halle and her fiance, Brandon Campbell, Jaime Nosbisch, Robert "Robby" Warner and his fiancee, Mandy Wilson, Roger Forbes and Karen Ann Forbes; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Richard Halle and his wife, Ruth, of Quincy; and one sister, Phyllis Lubbe of Weston, Wis. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert L. Halle; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home. Interment with military rites will be in Sunset Cemetery.
