BARRY, Ill. -- Robert Michael White, 62, of Pretty Prairie, Kan., formerly of Barry and Hannibal, Mo., died unexpectedly Friday (Feb. 1, 2013) in the Emergency Room of Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson, Kan. He was born July 13, 1950, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hannibal, Mo., a son of Thomas B. and Juanita L. Williams White. He married Diane Majors and later married Sheila Nash on May 31, 1974, in Kinsley, Kan. He lived in Barry until June 1957 when the family moved to Kansas. While in Barry, the family attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He attended school in Kansas, graduating from Pretty Prairie High School in 1968. He moved to Hannibal after graduating to live with his maternal grandmother, Pearl McNary Willams Sankpill, and worked at the shoe factory in Palmyra, Mo., until he returned to Kansas in 1972. He was a former auto body mechanic for Collins Bus Industries in Hutchinson until his health declined from complications from diabetes. He was a former board member of the Pretty Prairie Booster Club and was an avid NASCAR fan. Bob was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Castleton, Kan. Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of Pretty Prairie; a son, Dennis of Pretty Prairie; caregiver, Lisa Coulter of Pretty Prairie, whom he thought of as a daughter; his mother, Juanita of Hutchinson; a brother, Jim (Janis) of Pretty Prairie; sisters, Eloise Treaster and Evelyn Duke, both of Hutchinson; a cousin, Marilyn McNary-Vincent of Quincy, whom he thought of as a sister; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins of Kansas. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; his father, Thomas B. White; a sister, Anne Marie; maternal grandparents, Walter and Pearl McNary Williams Sankpill, and Roy and Lena Williams; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Minnie Gerard White; aunts, uncles and cousins. SERVICES: Were held Feb. 7 in the Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with the Rev. Ned Blick conducting. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery in Castleton, Kan. A rosary was held Feb. 6 in the Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman, Kan. ARRANGEMENTS: Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, Kan.
