Obituary Condolences

Robert O. "Porkchop" Booher, 78, of 1432 Maas Road, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012) in the Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Palmyra, Mo.

Robert was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Quincy, a son of Charles E. and Bertha Lubbert Booher. He married Dorothy J. Lightle on Sept. 19, 1959, in Vermont Street United Methodist Church, Quincy. She survives.

Robert attended Quincy High School. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict 1953-1956. He worked for 30 years at Electric Wheel where he was a foreman. After his retirement, Robert loved to attend farm auctions across the region. He was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite drivers were Dale Ehrnhardt Sr. and Jr. He also enjoyed attending races at Quincy Raceways. Robert loved to hunt, fish and trapshoot. Some of his fondest memories were of duck hunting with his brother. He was a member of the Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fisherman's Association and of Ducks Unlimited. Robert's favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include, three sons, David Booher of Aurora, Jeffrey Booher of Quincy and Eric (Suzie) Booher of Liberty; six grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer and Cory of Quincy, Joshua of Chicago and Alex and Lucas of Liberty; a sister, Ginger Heitman of Camp Point; a brother, Lehman "Dick" (Lorna) Booher of Carson City, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Dale, L.W. "Fritz", Ralph and Spencer in infancy.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. graveside Tuesday in Quincy Memorial Park with Charlie Lubbert, servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, conducting.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fisherman's Association or charity of donor's choice.
