CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Rosaleta Jean "Rosie" Barclay, 67, of Carthage, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2013) in Memorial Hospital, Carthage. She was born April 6, 1946, in LaHarpe, a daughter of Robert "Bob" and Leta (Pence) Waddell. On Nov. 21, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ed Barclay in First Christian Church, Carthage. Rosie attended Hamilton High School, graduating in 1965. She was a beautician, and owned and operated Rosie's New U for 12 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed many hobbies. She collected antique combs, dolls, blown glass and chickens. She also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments. Rosie and Ed were very close and enjoyed family card games, camping and golfing together. Rosie was also a NASCAR and dirt track racing fan. She loved her animals, Ava and Pappy. In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Leta (Ernest) Evermon of Hamilton; a sister, Joan Sparrow of Hamilton; three nieces, Melissa Hundley of Erie, Penn., Cathy Murray of Warsaw, and Cynthia Vinson of California; two nephews, Tony Hundley of Carthage and Chris Scovil of California; two-great nieces, Brianna Opperman of Erie and Montanna Devine of Warsaw; and a great-nephew, Justin Hundley, of Savannah. Rosie was preceded in death by her father. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Printy Funeral Home, Carthage.
