CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Sela Joy Wear, 85, of Carthage, died in Blessing Hospital in Quincy on Friday (Sept. 14, 2012.) Sela was born June 15, 1927, in Hamilton, a daughter of George H. and Cleta King Biery. On June 21, 1950, she married Robert E. Wear in Warsaw. He died on July 20, 2011. Sela graduated from Carthage High School in 1944. She had worked part-time jobs in Carthage and was a homemaker. Sela is survived by her daughter, Robin (Mark) Kissinger of Carthage and two grandsons, Mathew and Mitchell Kissinger; a brother, Richard "Dick" Biery of Carthage; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred "Bud" (Linda) Wear of Carthage, Vern (Gail) Wear of Orland Park, Mary (Harlan) Tobias of Carthage, Donna Strieker of Beardstown, Alice (Hank) Dierker of North Carolina, Kay Sumner of Beardstown, John Artman of Carthage, and Doris Wear of Carthage; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Vernon and Roberta Wear; a brother, George (Junior) and his wife, Belle; sisters-in-law, Colene Biery and Fran Artman; and brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Wear, Frank Sumner, and Lee Strieker. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. VISITATION: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. MEMORIALS: Carthage Public Library or the donor's choice.
