PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- Sharon Patricia Lowe, 64, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday (June 13, 2012) in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Sharon was born in Selmer, Tenn., on Aug. 15, 1947, a daughter to Daniel Patrick and Helen Drake Hassett. She married Dennis K. Lowe on April 15, 1969, in Milton, and he survives. In previous years, Sharon worked as a beautician with her mother-in-law, Betty Lowe, in Betty's shop and also was a beautician at the Spurgeon's Department Store in Pittsfield. She also was a cook for the Pike County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and an American Legion volunteer. She enjoyed sewing, craft work, quilting, cross stitch needlework, embroidery and making rosaries. Sharon is survived by her husband, Denny; a son, Todd Lowe, of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Amy (Mark) McDonald of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; a brother, Mike "Speedy" Hassett of Pittsfield; a sister, Shaun (Daniel) Taylor of Pittsfield; and three nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Jim Jacques conducting. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION: noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Sharon's grandchildren's education fund. ARRANGEMENTS: Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
