EWING, Mo. -- Shirley D. Carter, 78, of Ewing, died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 19, 2013) in the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown. She was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Ewing, a daughter of Raymond and Anna Orlena Guynn Cason. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ewing. She was retired for 12 years and had previously worked at Motorola and Micro Energy, both of Quincy, Ill., and American Safety in Palmyra. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanie (John) Shumate of Ewing; three granddaughters, Kimberly (Glenn) Rathbun of Rosendale, Karri Evans of St. Joseph, and Sarah (Gabe) Gordon of Chicago; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Garek Rathbun of Rosendale; two brothers, Bill (Ruthie) Cason of Ewing and Jack (Janet) Cason of LaGrange; two sisters, Jean (Eugene) Jones of Ewing and Janet Klocke of Ewing; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Cason; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Klocke. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday in the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, with the Rev. Tim Smith conducting. Burial will be in Ewing Memorial Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. MEMORIALS: Country Aire Retirement Estates or the
