Stephen "Hick" Edward Hickman Sr., 66, of Quincy, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 17, 2013) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy. Mr. Hickman was born on Dec. 24, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, a son of Calvin Hickman Sr. and Osceola Campbell Tate. Mr. Hickman enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing pool, and loved playing cards. Nothing was more special to him then the gathering of family and friends at events. He is survived by three sons, Stephen (Annette) Hickman Jr. of Ohio, Stephen Todd (Noelle) Hickman of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Gregory Stanbridge of Fort Madison; six daughters, Deneen (Timothy) Agnew of Hannibal, Mo., Stephanie and Yolanda Hickman of Bloomington, Melissa Hickman of Hannibal, Marie (Johnny) Hickman Jackson of Chicago, and Dana Stanbridge of New York; four brothers, Calvin Hickman Jr. of Quincy, Jerry Hickman of San Leandro, Calif., Lonnie Hickman of LaGrange, Mo., and Johnny Hickman of Quincy; eight sisters, Quetta (James) McCane of Mount Pleasant, Beverly (Robert ) Babers of Rock Island, Arlene and Darlene Hickman of LaGrange, Jackie (Mike) Osborne of Quincy, Debra (Mike) Hickman of Quincy, Donna Hickman of Quincy, and Enve (Aaron) Davis of Quincy; a godmother, Marlene Malcom; and a special friend, Irene Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. SERVICES: noon Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Quincy, with the Rev. Orville Jones conducting. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LaGrange, Mo. Following the burial there will be a gathering for family and friends at the LaGrange Lions Club. Pallbearers will be Pete Stapp, Calvin Parrish-Hickman, Calvin Smith, Dennis Hibbard, Pernell Hickman and Poncho Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Durand Shorty, David Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Randy Holder, Harold Rudd, Antoine Hickman and Ethan Bailey.
