TAYLOR, Mo. -- Terrill Eugene "Terry" Bowen, 62, of Taylor, died at 2:40 a.m. Thursday (May 17, 2012) in North Adams Nursing Home in Mendon, Ill. Mr. Bowen was born Nov. 27, 1949, in Hannibal, to John Albert and Katherine Perrine Bowen. Mr. Bowen was a U.S. Army veteran. He served during Vietnam receiving a Bronze Star, an Army Commendation Medal and an Army Air Medal. Mr. Bowen retired from Burlington Northern Railroad as a mechanic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed trapshooting. He was a member of the North Side Boat Club and the Hannibal VFW. Survivors include a brother, John W. Bowen of Breese, Ill.; two half brothers, Rusty Bowen and Kelly Bowen, both of Hannibal; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Bowen; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: Graveside services and burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Kinderhook Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Goodman officiating. VISITATION: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
