W. Frances Allen, 86, of 632 Ridgewood Dr., died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 10, 2013) in her home. Frances was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Williamstown, Mo., a daughter of Hollis E. "Bud" and Grace Brown Lemmon. She married Roy Hunsaker in October 1955. He preceded her in death in 1976. She married Floyd "Shake" Allen in August 1979. He preceded her in death in 1991. Frances was a graduate of Williamstown High School and was valedictorian of her class. She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell in Quincy until 1979 when she was transferred to Canton, Ill., until her retirement in 1985. She returned to Quincy and worked for 12 years for her daughter at Beers Tax Service. Frances was a past president of Washington School PTA in Quincy and was a member of Williamstown Christian Church, life member of Telephone Pioneers, and a member of Communication Workers of America. She was an avid front row Quincy Park Band fan, enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting Barbie dolls, and loved to play bingo at the Eagles with her friend, Linda Meyers. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Kent) Hunsaker Beers of Quincy; a granddaughter, Diane Michelle Beers of Quincy; a great-grandson, Connor Beers of Quincy (whom she "loved to pieces!"); a sister-in-law, Ada Hunsaker; a nephew, Steve Lemmon of St. Louis, Mo.; a niece, Cindy Stedman of Kingsport, Tenn.; and a grand-dog, Cuda. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy, Gladys Mable Lemmon; and two brothers, Eugene and Harry Lemmon. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Ehresman conducting. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
