W. Lorraine Gosney Summers Obituary
PALMYRA, Mo. -- W. Lorraine Gosney Summers, 94, of Palmyra, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Lorraine was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Lakenan, to Charles William and Grace Vivian Gottman Gosney. In 1942, she married Darrell E. Broten, together they had two children. On June 18, 1977, she was married to William Randles "Ran" Summers. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1993.

Lorraine graduated from Hannibal High School in 1941. She attended Gem City School of Business in Quincy. She worked in billing for both Blessing Hospital and Farm Bureau Insurance.

Lorraine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Palmyra. She was quite well-known in the area for her beautiful crochet rugs. She loved her cats and loved collecting anything that was "cat themed."

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Morgan of Janesville, Wis.; one son-in-law, Virgil Lackey of Palmyra; six grandchildren, Kim Lackey of Palmyra, Jeff Lackey (Carrie) of Palmyra, Josh Lackey (Kim) of Palmyra, Kami Lackey of Hannibal, Aaron Morgan of Janesville and Shelli Heinsch (Larry) of Hugo, Minn.; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four stepdaughters, Lois Schneider of Boise, Idaho, Alice Distelehorst of Las Cruces, N.M., Mary Martin of Waunakee, Wis., and Martha Torlina of St. Louis; seven stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jean Lackey Trenter; and grandson, Jon Lackey.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra with the Rev. Paul Reese conducting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.

Pallbearers will be Ace Minch, Jeff Lackey, Aaron Morgan and Virgil Lackey.

VISITATION: 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

MEMORIALS: Palmyra Nutrition Center Meals on Wheels.
