Wilma A. Bliven, 84, of 2405 Crystal Ave., died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday (May 7, 2013) in Blessing Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1929, in LaSalle, a daughter of William H. and Frances M. Bregach Pearce. On Nov. 4, 1950, she married John P. Bliven in Quincy. He died Feb. 22, 2007. Wilma was a 1947 graduate of Quincy High School. Wilma was a homemaker, but she also had worked for Moorman Manufacturing and Caterpillar Inc. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter. Wilma was a loving mother who will be deeply missed. She especially enjoyed her summer family vacations in Ely, Minn., for the past 40 years. Survivors include three children, Barbara Lovelace, Carol "Susie" (Bill) Calkins and John "Tom" Bliven, all of Quincy; five grandchildren, Megan (Brian Stark) Lovelace of Quincy, William "Bill" (Dawn) Hobbs of Quincy, Toni Dodson of Denham Springs, La., and Kylie and Joshua Bliven, both of Quincy; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Alexander Lovelace and Devin Hobbs; a sister, Frances Elaine "Mickey" (Art) Durst-Lohmeyer of Quincy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ethel Gottlieb and Vivian Kunz. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of St. Peter, with Monsignor Leo Enlow and the Rev. Duane Leclercq conducting. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
