PAYSON, Ill. -- Roger Allen Stice, 75, of rural Payson, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 15, 2014) in his home. Born Nov. 29, 1938, in Quincy, Roger was a son of Jason T. and Caroline W. Pfaffe Stice Sr. He married Mary Lou Stephens on Aug. 8, 1959, in Quincy. She survives. Mr. Stice served his country in the U. S. Army as a member of the elite 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. An avid hunter, Roger was a life member of the National Rifle Association and its lobby arm, the Institute for Legislative Action. Roger was employed as a journeyman cabinetmaker at Huck Fixture Co. in Quincy for 36 years. He retired in 1997. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Cindy Williams (Don), Lori Stice and Ruth Ann Stice; six grandchildren, Markie Stice, Rob Spidle (Erin), Sean Spidle, Stephanie Spidle, Joseph Principe and Rose Principe; two stepgrandchildren, Paige Brady (Stefan) and Beau McGinley; a great-grandson, Silas Spidle; a stepgreat-grandson, Wyatt Brady; three brothers, Michael Stice, John Stice (Ellen) and Jason Stice (Vicki); a sister, Kate Langley; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Stice was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Thomas Derek Stice and Mark Allen Stice; two sisters, Judy Heck and Vicky Turnbaugh; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Turnbaugh and Ron Langley. SERVICES: Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Stice. No services will be held.
