Richard R. "Bud" Rose Obituary
Richard R. "Bud" Rose, 77, of Quincy, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 23, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.

He was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Quincy, a son of Richard C. and Carlene Brosi Rose. He married Imogene Harlan Shannon on June 5, 1993, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Richard worked for The Quincy Herald-Whig for 45 years, retiring in 2009. He was a graduate of Gem City Business College and was a member of Palmyra Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his wife, Imogene, survivors include a son, Alex (Amanda) Rose, and children, Caleb, Connor and Sophia, of Springfield, Ill.; daughters, Sarah (Kory Brennan) Rose and son, Kole Brennan, of Belton, Mo., Cathy (Walt) Flint of San Antonio and children, Shannon Muhle and Kit Flint and Rhonda (Jerry) Gabriel of Springfield, Mo., and children, Emily (Maryen) Duarte and Stacey (Matt) Kelso; a brother, Bill Rose, of Quincy; a sister, Barbara (Denny) Pihos, of Hampshire; and several loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Buttons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley Rose; and grandsons, Matt Flint and Jerry Gabriel Jr.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra, with the Rev. Mike Rickman conducting.

Casket bearers will be Ken Fletcher, Gus Damon, Rick Rose, Ron Rose, Maryen Duarte and Matt Kelso. Honorary bearers will be Steve Blickhan, Allen Blickhan, Kevin Blickhan, Maurice Blickhan and Kit Flint.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Palmyra Assembly of God Church or Blessing Hospice.

ARRANGEMENTS: Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
