MAYWOOD, Mo. -- Sandra Sue Carpenter, 72, of Maywood, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday (Feb. 28, 2014) in Hannibal Regional Hospital. Sue was born Oct. 27, 1941, in Mountain Home, Ark., to Harold and Betty Rowley Hogan. She married William Carpenter on Dec. 24, 2004, in Quincy, Ill. Sue had worked at Hogan's Cafe in Taylor for several years. She then worked as a waitress at Sprout's Inn in Quincy for over 20 years and retired in 2005. She attended The Crossing in Quincy. Sue is survived by her husband, William; her children, Deanna (Charles) Cantrell of Lewistown, Gregory (Brenda) Roberts of Mascoutah, Ill., Lori (Wendell) Guthrie of Mattoon and Todd William (Lisa) Carpenter of Desoto, Kan.; a brother, Roy (Linda) Minor of Palmyra; a brother-in-law Tommie Horton of Palmyra; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Minor; a sister, Betty Horton; and a niece, Brenda Link. SERVICES: 1 p.m. graveside Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Taylor, with the Rev. Russell Brownell conducting. A gathering for friends and family will follow the services in the Main Stop Cafe, Durham.
