Mary R. Austin, 95, of Edwardsville, formerly of Titusville, Fla., and Quincy, on Sunday (March 30, 2014) in Edwardsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Aug. 8, 1918, in Quincy, a daughter of Alfred and Bernadine Spohr Clement. Mary married Fred Austin on Dec. 29, 1941, and he died in 1965. Mary worked as a volunteer in Titusville library for many years. She loved the library and to read. Mary was of Catholic faith. She is survived by four nieces, Mary Lou Dean-Price of Vandalia, Ill., Barbara- Dean Gnaedinger of Pocahontas, Leeta Dean- Redd of Edwardsville, and Sandra Dean-Mirza of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and many great-, great-great-, great-great-great-nieces and great-, great-great-, great-great-great-nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Don Austin; one sister, Helen Dean; one nephew, Billy Dean; and one niece, Sara Dean.
