Helen Idabelle Welte, 83, of the Lincoln Douglas Apartments, Quincy, went home to be with the Lord on Monday (April 7, 2014). She was born on Nov. 3, 1930, in Quincy, a daughter of Henry and Idabelle Miller Welte. She was a lifelong resident of Quincy. She had worked almost 50 years for Premier Linen & Towel Service. Helen was such a gentle soul, never without a smile. She enjoyed the simple things in life like going to Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee with her sister, Mary. Helen never married, she always said she had too many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and great and great-great-nephews to care for. She was a wonderful sister and aunt to all of her loved ones. She is survived by three sisters, Idabelle Ow of Chicago, Mary Vedenhaupt and Barbara (Edward) Sohn, all of Quincy. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Maude Welte, Dorothy Nick-Cunningham and Wanda Brown; and four brothers, Henry Jr., Floyd, Bert and Tommy Welte.
