CAMP POINT, Ill. -- Leota A. Vollmer, 86, of Camp Point, died Monday (April 7, 2014) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Born May 3, 1927, in Quincy, Leota was the daughter of Lester and Reva Brady Morris. She married Robert W. Vollmer in 1949 in Quincy. He survives. Leota was a homemaker and farm wife. She was of the Protestant faith. She loved gardening, growing flowers, and many other outdoor activities. Indoors, she excelled in cooking and always had a sewing project on the go. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Steve Vollmer (Heather) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two grandchildren, Jennifer Vollmer of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Jordan Vollmer of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and two great-grandchildren, Nicolas Vollmer and Naomi McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Friday in the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point by Larry Cortelyou. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.
