Ellen V. Hermann, 94, of the Bradford Villa, formerly of Hamann Lane, died Thursday (April 10, 2014) in Blessing Hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Quincy, a daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Talken) Costigan. She married Richard Hermann on Sept. 21, 1946, in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death. Ellen was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a former volunteer at the St. Vincent Home. She is survived by a son, Steve Hermann and his wife, Regina, of Webster Grove, Mo.; four daughters, Janet McKnight of Lee's Summit, Mo., Mary Ann Millican of Seattle, Chris Churchwell and her husband, Steve, of McAlester, Okla., and Kathy Rand and her husband, William, of Lee's Summit; 11 grandchildren, Erin and Ryan McKnight, Liz Hermann and Kate Hermann-Stone and her husband, Dan, Zach Millican and his wife, Rebecca, Laura Millican Hollingsworth and her husband, Tawon, Brian Churchwell and his wife Candice, Jessica Churchwell, Lynn Trainor and her husband, Chris, and Isabell and Augustus Rand; four great-grandchildren, Zach Hermann, Jurrien Hollingsworth, Jaxon Hollingsworth and Evelyn Millican; and one sister, Florence Southern of Chula Vista, Calif. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. In addition to her husband, Ellen was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lawrence Costigan; a sister, Margaret Costigan; and a son-in-law, Robert McKnight. SERVICES: 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
