Delbert Ray Barnard, 76, of 6810 Dale Ave., Quincy, died Tuesday (April 15, 2014) in his home.
He was born July 5, 1937, in Hull, the son of Arthur and Dolly Booker Barnard. He married Lorene Adelaide Barnard on Nov. 7, 1964, in Quincy. She died Sept. 30, 2009. Mr. Barnard was a machinist at various companies in the area through the years. He served in the United States Army Delbert enjoyed birdwatching and fishing. He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Garcia of Justin, Texas; five grandchildren, Kelly Sue Billingsley and her husband, Bert, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Joseph Freeman, Anthony Garcia, and Christina Garcia; two brothers, Doris Barnard and Albert Barnard and his wife, Laura; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Delbert Ray Barnard II and two brothers, Donald Barnard and Alvin Barnard. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Friday graveside services will be in Quincy Memorial Park. VISITATION: There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services.
