V. Leigh Messner, 31, of 529 S. Sixth, died unexpectedly on Tuesday (April 29, 2014) in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 3, 1983, in Quincy. Leigh was a graduate of Quincy High School and had also attended John Wood Community College and Vatterott College. Leigh worked at the Village Inn Restaurant as a cook. Her children were Leigh's life. She is survived by her three children, twin girls J'Leigha Ann and Jazzlyn Elizabeth Long, and a son, Jaron James Long; her mother, Kim Lane and her husband, Ronnie, of Fowler; her father, Don Messner and his wife, Sherry, of Versailles; grandparents, Delbert and Sue Lane; great-grandmother, Nettie Huffman; brothers, D.W. Messner and his wife, Gretchen, and twins Dustin and Justin Lane; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Leigh was preceded in death by her grandparents. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Akers Chapel Cemetery, near Hull. VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
