Hazel Hutson, 91, of the Sunset Home, died on Sunday (June 22, 2014) in the home. She was born on Jan. 9, 1923, in Martinsburg, the daughter of William Arthur and Veda Conroy Stone. She married Alan Hutson in November of 1943. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Hutson was a LPN in the Quincy area and had also formerly had been proprietor of a bookstore in Quincy. She was of the Christian faith. Hazel read constantly and was a fan of basketball and the Chicago Bulls. She is survived by two children, Deborah Norris of Springfield, Ill., and Dennis Hutson and his wife, Barbara, of Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hutson, also of Houston; four grandchildren, Margaret Hutson, Don Norris, Pansy Hutson and Dennis Hutson Jr. and his wife, Michelle; one great-grandson, Ryan Hayes; and a brother, Donald Stone. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Hutson. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
