Pravyn Lance McBride-Meyer, 2, also lovingly known as "Poppa Bear," "Pra-Pra" and "Dewt," of 714 Adams, Quincy, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday (July 2, 2014) in Children's Hospital, St. Louis. Pravyn was born May 3, 2012, in Quincy, a son of Whitney Meyer and Sam McBride Jr. Pravyn loved Mickey Mouse, especially doing the "Hot Dog Dance." He enjoyed playing basketball and watching it on TV and going on mower rides with his PaPa Lance. Most of all, Pravyn loved to smile. Pravyn and his brother were typical boys who liked to wrestle, chase each other, cuddle up and eat popcorn, and play outside with their cousin, Riley. Survivors include his mother, Whitney Meyer of Quincy; his father, Sam McBride Jr. of Hannibal, Mo.; his brother; Talan Meyer of Quincy; maternal grandparents, Lance (April) Meyer of Hull; paternal grandparents, Sam McBride Sr. of Hannibal, Mo., and Heather Wright of Indianapolis, Ind.; maternal great-grandparents, Dale (Delores) Meyer of Hull; numerous aunts and uncles, including Landon Meyer of Collinsville, Scarlett Meyer of Chicago and Karri Meyer of Hull; and a special cousin, Riley Kendrick of Hull. Pravyn was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Noel Kendrick. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Javaux conducting.
