Evelyn L. Stanberry, 76, of Quincy, died on Monday (July 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital. She was born on Dec. 19, 1937, in South Pekin, a daughter of John O. and Velma Bryant Ball. She married Myron L. Stanberry on Aug. 14, 1954, in South Pekin. He died April 17, 1994. Evelyn was of the Christian faith. She retired from Hardee's Restaurant on 12th and Locust. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Gramc of Quincy; one son, Marty Stanberry and his wife, Carolyn, of Quincy; 10 grandchildren, Regina (Walter) Houghton, MacKenzie (Amy Jo) Smith, Gary Stephenson, Angela (fiance, John Farris) Stephenson, Terry (fiancee, Felicia Cox) Stephenson, Lisa (Rob) Cook, Tiffany (Martin) Vahle, Joseph (fiancee, Amber Perez) Stanberry, Jack Guthrie and Jeff Kendrick; one brother, John O. "Jack" Ball; and two sisters, Velma "Mert" Wertz and Sandra Lohnes. Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband, Myron, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Stanberry, in infancy; a sister, Jenny Miller; and a brother, Clarence Jones. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Quincy National Cemetery.
