HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Marvin Joseph Price Sr., 88, of Hannibal, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday (July 23, 2014) in the Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal. Mr. Price Sr. was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Quincy, Ill., to Samuel A. and Evelyn G. Martin Price. He was married to Alberta Crossman Johnson on May 3, 1986, in Hannibal. She survives. Mr. Price worked as a machinist for over 36 years at Gardner Denver. He also previously owned and operated the Ursa Cafe and the J & M Coin Wash in Ursa, Ill. Mr. Price loved to collect cans to get out and exercise and get to know people. He also enjoyed yard work and liked being outside. Mr. Price was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Other survivors include three children, Marvin "Sonny" Price Jr. of Justin, Texas, Michael J. Price of McPherson, Kan., and Dena A. Buckallew (Gary) of Macon; three stepchildren, Carol Maulding (Tom) of Peoria, Ill., Louis McClintoc (Ken) of Bushnell, Ill., and Randy Johnson (Carolyn) of Meredosia, Ill.; one brother, Ray Price (Carol); four sisters, Bonnie Fredrick, Shirley Gooding (Rocky), Molly Reese (Dick) and Vicky Hahn (Kermit); nine grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Marilyn "Jo" Johnson; one brother, Sam Price; his twin sisters, Anna Marie Price and Frances Rita Price; two grandchildren, Shawn Price and Andrea Price; and one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Price. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in Calvary Baptist Church, Hannibal, with Brother Jeff Anderson conducting. Burial will be in Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ill.
