Paul E. Kinsel Obituary
EDINA, Mo. -- Paul Everett "Flash" Kinsel, 91, of Edina, passed away Monday (July 28, 2014) in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina.

He was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Edina, a son of John Louis and Edna May Layman Kinsel.

Paul was raised in Edina, where he graduated from Edina High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. A World War II veteran, Paul arrived in Normandy one week after D-Day. One of Paul's greatest joys was attending the Great River Honor Flight accompanied by his niece, Bonnie Kinsel, in April 2011. Paul was especially touched by the motorcycle brigade that led the veterans back to Hannibal.

After his military service, most of his life was spent in Edina working with his dad and brother. Paul was active in the community. Paul was a member of the Edina Methodist Church and the Knox County Memorial Post 4822 V.F.W. in Edina, and was an active 50-year member of the Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post 261.

He enjoyed reading, donating blood and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Paul was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle.

Paul is survived by one brother, George Robert Kinsel of Carbondale, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Betty Kinsel of Edina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
