Obituary Condolences

Stella V. Stephens, 95, of 2902 Spring, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, (July 30, 2014) in the Barry Community Care Center in Barry.

Stella was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Bowling Green, Mo., the daughter of Murty and Ollie Kennedy Whitley.

She was an employee of Davis-Cleaver in Quincy.

Stella enjoyed crafts and quilting.

Stella is survived by seven children, Alice (Glen) Rupert of Peoria, Eilene (Cecil) Bennett of North Carolina, Albert (Clara) Flynn of Isabella, Mo., Mary (Derrill) Jackson of Palmyra, Mo., Jean (Jack) Lish of Barry, Sam (Billie) Pipkin of Quincy, and Ronald "Skip" Pipkin of Quincy; 37 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Stella "Chub" Wilke, Margaret Zaerr and Sue Ward; a son, Allen "Butch" Flynn; two grandsons, Rick Lee Lish and Bill Powell; five brothers, Charles, William, Murty, Walter and Russell Whitley; and three sisters, Lola Rolde, Daisey Whitley and Loretta Simmerly.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Mckenzie officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy.

VISITATION: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
