Sandra K. Guegel, 74, of Seal Beach, Calif., formerly of Quincy, where she was born and raised, died Monday (Aug. 4, 2014) in Blessing Hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Quincy, a daughter of Arthur and Antoinette Altmix Guegel. Sandra was a retired English teacher in southern California. She was a graduate of Marquette University. Sandra was of the Catholic faith and a former long-time member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Quincy. Sandra loved to travel and cook. She was also fond of animals. She was a very generous and loving person. In addition to her husband, Kenneth Meyer, survivors include a brother, Bill Guegel, and his wife, Graciela, of Houston; a nephew, Anthony Guegel, and his wife, Lorri, of Pearland, Texas; a niece, Kathryn Donnelly, and her husband, Shawn, of Broomfield, Colo.; a great-nephew, Xander Guegel; and a great-niece, Genna Guegel. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Guegel, in infancy. SERVICES: A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in the Church of St. Peter, Quincy.
