CLAYTON, Ill. -- Melissa S. Parn, 45, of Clayton, died at 3:26 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 12, 2014) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Born May 28, 1969, in Quincy, Melissa was a daughter of Niles Parn and Marilyn Flint. Melissa loved fishing, pitching horseshoes and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Walker (Larry) of Knox City, Mo.; her father, Niles Parn of Versailles; two daughters, Kelsie Kaylor of Rushville and Karlie Watt of Camp Point; two grandchildren, Riddick Davey and Livie Henrick; her maternal grandmother, Carolina Flint of Clayton; her brother, JR Parn (Sara) of Carthage; two sisters, Catie Deromedi (Brandon) of Thermopolis, Wyo., and Alex Smith (Kyle) of Clayton; a niece, Isabella; two nephews, Niles and Cooper; and her companion, Eric Campbell of Clayton. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather. SERVICES: Melissa was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton with the Rev. Larry Flint conducting.
