WEST POINT, Ill. -- Karen Sue Kaiser, 71, of West Point, formerly of Kewanee, died at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday, (Aug. 12, 2014) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy. She was born Jan. 15, 1943, in Peoria, a daughter of Perry and Dorothy Mercer Merritt. She married Kenneth L. Kaiser on May 26, 1973, in Kewanee. He survives. Karen graduated from Brown County High School. She had worked as the assistant manager at McClellans. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and genealogy. Other survivors include, two sons, David LeRoi (Beata Mae) Stout of Colchester, and Kenneth Andrew "Andy" Kaiser of Bowen; two brothers, Gerald (Mary Sue) Merritt of Rushville, and William Merritt of Kewanee; a sister, Janean (Larry) Johnson of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Richard (Talitha) Pollock, Brandy (Anthony) Herbert and Kelly (Mike) Columbus; six great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Genevieve Pollock, Aurora and Gabriel Herbert, and Myra and Bradyn Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the
