Eileen Ellen Koch, 89, of Marietta, Ga., and formerly of Quincy, died at 6:43 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 23, 2014) in Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. She was a resident of Winnwood Retirement Community in Marietta and a member of Marietta First Baptist Church. Born in Elkhart, Ind., in 1925, Eileen graduated from the University of Michigan School of Nursing in 1946 and Indiana University in 1952. As a nurse she worked various places, including as a school nurse for Elkhart schools and as a clinical nurse at Ingham Medical (now McLaren) Hospital. She retired in 1988. Eileen sang in a family trio with her parents, Earl and Captola Brock, when she was a child. As an adult she sang in numerous church choirs, sang solos, was a member of a women's quartet and sang duets with her daughter. She was also a founding member of Westwood Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, Mich., and long-time member of Colonial Village Baptist Church of Lansing, Mich. She is survived by two children, Kathleen Wilcox and Alan Koch; and six grandchildren, Robert Wilcox, Kelly Gerber, Steven Koch, Andrew Koch, Matthew Oetting and Jonathan Oetting. Eileen is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Tyler Oetting, Ryan Oetting, Michael S. Oetting and Elizabeth Gerber She was preceded in death by two husbands, Paul W. Koch and Frederick W. Oetting Jr., and by her son, Michael R. Oetting. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, graveside services will be held at the Xander Cemetery at Liberty, with the Rev. John Adams officiating.
