Peggy Maguire, 59, of Quincy, died Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2014) in her home. Peggy fought a long and courageous battle with RSD. She was born June 4, 1955, in Quincy, a daughter of Terry and Patricia Kerkering Maguire. Peggy was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Parkland College in Champaign, Ill. She continued her career as the lead RN for Hospice of Champaign. Peggy was known and loved for her great desire to help others, especially the elderly. Survivors include her mother, Patricia Maguire, of Quincy; two sons, Adam Zopf of Los Angeles and Eric Zopf of Mundelein; two sisters, Kathleen Kayser and her husband, Bill, of Perry, Mo., and Jane Koenig and her husband, Hal, of Quincy; and numerous other relatives, including aunts, nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Terry Maguire; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Lela Kerkering; and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Alma Maguire.
