Edna F. Walbring, 90, of 2410 S. Eighth, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday (Nov. 9, 2009) in her home. Born April 14, 1919, in Quincy, Edna was a daughter of Frank and Lena Hunt Siebers. She lived on South Eighth Street all her life, where she met her neighbor and future husband, Earl R. Walbring. They were married five years later on Jan. 23, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. After their marriage they moved a few blocks from her childhood home to her current address. Earl died on Feb. 12, 2007. Edna was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was, for the most part, a homemaker, only working for a short time at Pierson's Co. and part time at Moorman Manufacturing Co. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, mushroom hunting and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother who was devoted to her family. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Walbring and Dean Walbring, both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Rodney Walbring and his wife, Brenda, of Quincy, Karen Esterlein and her husband, Skip, of Quincy, Sharon Cote and her husband, David, of Clearwater, Fla., Jill Anderson and her husband, Clint, of Parker, Texas, Deana Brink and her husband, Walter, of Quincy, and Lori Walbring also of Clearwater; 12 great-grandchildren, Kendra and Gavin Walbring of Quincy, Mercedee and Jersee Esterlein of Quincy, Jasmyne and Jordan Cote of Clearwater, Cherish, Chancy, Dycen and Drayden Anderson, all of Parker and Aric and Ellie Brink of Quincy; one brother-in-law, Charles Grimm of Quincy; and several loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Walbring was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Steven Earl Walbring; seven brothers, Frank, Herbert, Roman, William, Lawrence, Alfred and twin brother Edward Siebers; and three sisters Clara Weavers, Margaret Calhoun, and Bertha Reed. SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, with Rev. Wanda Seydel conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and until the time of services Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
