Marvin "Oscar" Yancey Obituary
DURHAM, Mo. -- Marvin "Oscar" Yancey, 55, of Durham, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 26, 2010) in Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown.

Mr. Yancey was born on Oct. 13, 1955, in Beardstown, Ill., to Orville Ray and Virginia Irene Lauder Yancey. He was married to Ellen Kay Derhake on Aug. 31, 1979, in Quincy, Ill. She died Oct. 11, 2009.

Mr. Yancey worked as a truck driver for Central Welding Supply of Quincy. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and just being on the river. He also liked to bowl and especially enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Joshua Yancey (Lindsey) of Mexico, Mo., Jessica Beaver (Josh) of Ewing and Allison Yancey of Ewing; seven brothers and sisters, Gene Yancey (Diane) of Durham, Nancey Scott (George) of Jacksonville, Ill., Bob Yancey (Pat) of Hannibal, Kay Lohman (Bill) of Ewing, Roseann Steinman (Dwain) of New London, Mary Luber (Dan) of Highland, Ill., and Victor Yancey (Iven) of Highland; one brother-in-law, Lee Barnard of Ewing; two grandchildren, Jude and Myles Yancey; and many nephews, nieces and other extended family members.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Beverly Hogan and Carol Barnard.

SERVICES: 3 p.m. Sunday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal. In accordance with Mr. Yancey's wishes his body was donated to the Washington University School of Medicine.

VISITATION: 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
