Lou Ann Mason, 57, of 3229 Fox Run East, died at 8:58 p.m. Monday (Jan. 17, 2011) in Blessing Hospital. Born June 27, 1953, in Quincy, Lou Ann was a daughter of Thomas "Moose" and Virginia Charle Lowary. She married David L. Mason Jan. 23, 1971, in Quincy. He survives. Lou Ann was an active member at Grace United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed making decorative wreaths for the church. She transferred her membership to Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church when Grace Church closed. Lou Ann also enjoyed bowling and painting, especially china painting and decorative painting on clocks. Lou Ann was employed as a secretary at Gem City Ford for several years. She had also worked at Pix Photo and JCPenney. Surviving are her husband, David; a son, David T. Mason and his wife, Heather, of Quincy; five grandchildren, Dylan Mason and Delaney Mason, both of Quincy, and Austin Mason, Courtney Mason and Dustin Mason, all of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert Lowary and his wife, Donna, of Quincy; an uncle, Earl "Doc" Lowary and his wife, Vin, of Oswego; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Daniel Mason. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Connie Jenkins. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. VISITATION: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
