Peggy A. Nixon, 69, formerly of Quincy, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, from lung cancer in her home in Tucson, Ariz., where she resided for 16 years. Peggy was a retired as a licensed professional grief counselor in Tucson. She earned a bachelor's degree from Quincy University and a master's degree from Sangamon State University, Peggy is survived by her three children and their spouses, Kelly (Nixon) and Randy Cadwallader of Lynchburg, Va., Derrick and Susan Nixon of Quincy, and Blake and Lida Nixon of the state of Virginia; her ex-husband, Dennis Nixon of Quincy; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Memorial services were held in Flowing Wells Baptist Church in Tucson. Burial was July 6 in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, Ill. ARRANGEMENTS: Desert Sunset Funeral Home, Tucson.
