Mrs. Lois I. Bange, 71, of Quincy, died at 1 p.m. Monday (Oct. 29, 2012) in her home. Born March 28, 1941, in Quincy, Lois was a daughter of Foster Giles and Elva R. Gallaher Whitaker. She married Bernard "Bernie" Bange on Nov. 22, 1959, in Crystal City, Ill. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1995. Lois was employed at Motorola until its closing and then for Blessing Hospital and Micro Energy, where she retired as line supervisor. Lois was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge 100. She enjoyed dancing and was devoted to her family. Survivors include two sons, Herbert W. Bange II of Quincy and Rodney W. Bange (Jerri Lynn) of Enon, Ohio; two brothers, Gearold "Buck" Whitaker of Quincy and Russell Whitaker (Carolyn) of Yorkville; a sister, Maurine Baugher of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bange was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Samuel Whitaker; and three sisters, Lucy Susan Whitaker, Myrtle Friedhoff and Glenna Daugherty. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Kuse conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
