Gerald "Jerry" Doyle, 85, of Quincy, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

Gerald was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Adams County, a son of John and Bessie Turnhoffer Doyle. He married Alice Louise Vollrath on Sept. 2, 1950, in Quincy. She survives.

Jerry was a graduate of Mendon Township High School. He also graduated from North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn., where he received a bachelor's degree in pastoral studies. Jerry served as a church pastor in Versailles, Ky.

Jerry worked as an inspector for Firestone in Quincy for more than 20 years. He retired in 1983. He volunteered at Blessing Hospital as an information desk advisor and as a M.E.N.S. escort.

Jerry was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jon (Angela) Doyle of Houston, Texas, Jim Doyle of St. Louis and Jeff Doyle of Quincy; three grandchildren, Brandon (Nicole) Doyle of Forney, Texas, Lindy (Gabriel) Perez of San Angelo, Texas, and Zoe Doyle of Houston, Texas; a great-grandchild, Jayden John Perez; and two sisters, Arlene Jones of Blandinsville and Virgene Phillips of Bowen.

Gerald was preceded in death by parents; a son, Jerry Doyle Jr.; a sister, Wilma Doyle; and two brothers, Dean and Donald Doyle.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Bethel Assembly of God, with the Rev. Keith Garner conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
