William Lee "Bill" Gravitt Obituary
EDINA, Mo. -- William Lee "Bill" Gravitt, 81, of Edina, died Friday (Feb. 15, 2013) in Liberty, Ill.

He was born in Quincy, Ill., on Sept. 6, 1931, a son of Eulis Aubry and Willa Scharelottie Welch Gravitt.

In his earlier years, he was married and to this union four children were born. On Jan. 6, 1964, in Quincy, he married Marilyn Ann Garnett and two children were born to this union. Marilyn died on Jan. 23, 2013.

Bill was raised in Quincy, where he received his education. In his earlier years he worked for Riverside Coal and Oil and then he drove a taxi in Quincy.

Bill worked for the city of Quincy for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Bill and Marilyn then moved to Yellville, Ark., where they resided until 2011 when they moved to Edina. Bill was a member of the Lead Hill Christian Church. Since living in Edina, Bill attended the First Baptist Church in Edina. Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife on day trips and especially the time spent with family.

Survivors include six children, Terry Welch of Kansas, Acey Welch of Arkansas, Fonda Gerber of Kansas, Winona Welch of Arkansas, Tina Gravitt of Yellville, Ark., and Tonya Leapley of Liberty, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, including Zachary Leapley, Megan Leapley and Jamie Mansperger; several nieces and nephews, including Kevin Woodward, David Woodward and Kay Dodd; two special great-nieces, Kristina Ferguson and Kaitlyn Dodd; and a special-great nephew, Tim Monetti.

Bill was preceded in death, by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Eugene Gravitt; and one sister, Norma Jean Gravitt.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. John Bode. Burial will be in the Novelty Cemetery. Musical selections will be "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden" and "I'll Fly Away."

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Edina.
