Obituary Condolences

MONROE CITY, Mo. -- Thomas "Tuck" Tucker, 60, of Monroe City, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Feb. 13, 2013) in Lake Placid, Fla.

Thomas was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Pittsfield, Ill., a son of Francis Mack and Genevieve W. Ralph Tucker.

In 1970, Tuck graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Quincy, Ill., and from Quincy College in 1974.

He worked eight years at International Harvester and 17 years at Watlow. He then owned and operated Tuck's Dam Store and had worked the last 10 years at General Mills in Hannibal. Thomas loved fishing, farming and hunting.

Survivors include the sunshine of his life, Kathy Schroeder of Monroe City; his mother, Genevieve Tucker of Quincy; two stepchildren, Denise Hobt and husband, Tom, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Rob Schroeder and wife, Kim, of Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Emilee, Kaitlyn, Kyle and Nick Hobt, and Kayla, Drake and Becca Schroeder; one brother, Patrick R. Tucker and wife, Patricia, of Hamilton, Ill.; one sister, Mary M. Penrod and husband, Terry, of Fowler,Ill.; and several nieces and nephews, including Christopher Calvert of South Carolina, Nicole Calvert of Texas and Terry T. Kemp of Iowa.

Tuck was preceded in death, by his father, Mack Tucker; and one grandson, Andrew Hobt.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Yager-Kendrick Funeral Home, Monroe City, conducted by the Rev. Steve Goughnour. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
