Dorothy "Jean" Laughead 87, formerly of Moline, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2013) in OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. She was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Quincy, a daughter of William Henry and Edna Emma Biebigheuser Rueter. In 1947, she married C. W. "Bill" Laughead. The couple raised three children. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. Jean worked as a secretary for John Deere and as a sales clerk at JC Penney. She is survived by her children, Robin (Kathy) Laughead of Zwingle, Iowa, Donald Laughead of Moline and Janet Berfield of Peoria; four grandchildren, Elyse Laughead and Amber Laughead, both of Davenport, Iowa, Laura Berfield of Chicago and Tom (Elizabeth) Berfield; along with two great-grandchildern, Lillianne and Flora Berfield, of Louisville, Ky. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her brothers, Kennith, Maurice and Donald; and her beloved sister Wilma. SERVICES: Services are pending.
