Maryln Steinkamp Kelly, 63, surrounded by her beloved husband of 40 years and her four loving children, died peacefully on Saturday (Feb. 23, 2013) after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.

Mary was born on Sept. 7, 1949, to Herman and Marguerite Steinkamp in Quincy. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Quincy and St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield, after which she enjoyed a long career caring for patients at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest and Clarkson West Emergency in Omaha, Neb.

Maryln married Michael Kelly in 1972, and they started their life together in South Korea where Michael was stationed with the U.S. Army. They spent many years in Libertyville before moving to Elkhorn, Neb., in 1995.

Mary enjoyed a wide circle of friends and family who will miss her humorous stories, ready smile and sage advice. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed traveling, reading and, most of all, doting on her three grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Christine (Danny) Kissinger; sons, Sean, Jim (Becky) and Brendan; grandchildren, Maggie Kissinger and J.P. and Reese Kelly; brothers, Bill and John (Pat); sisters, Kathy Dudgeon (John Ritchie) and Joann Eisenhart (Eric); and six nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce.
