Roger Breeden Obituary
GOLDEN, Ill. -- Roger Breeden, 66, of Golden, formerly of Plymouth, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday (March 4, 2013) at his home near Golden.

He was born May 8, 1946, a son of Virgil and Minnie Phillips Breeden in the family home in Birmingham. He lived in this home until his marriage to Connie Henson on July 5, 1968, in Plymouth.

His passion in life was his family and coon hunting. Roger always made sure there was an extra plate at the table or a bed for anyone in need. He started all his children and grandchildren out hunting as soon as they could carry a flashlight and walk the woods. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Plymouth Baptist Church. He knew that death was a beginning, not an end. He is going home to be with the Lord.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, a past member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM, the Plymouth American Legion Post No. 912, Crooked Creek Coon Hunters Association and the Heartland Garden Tractor Pulling Association.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; three children, Hope Snyder of Macomb, Sarah (Scott) Rhodes of Peoria, and Timothy (Lilly) Breeden of Plymouth; his former son-in-law, Marshall Steffen; six grandchildren, Derrick (Amber) Snyder of Burbank, Calif., Ashley (Chris) Sanders of Peoria, Marshall Jr. (Jennifer) Steffen of Quincy, and Amber, Tucker and Tanner Breeden at home; two special adopted grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Mast and Ben Klingler; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Scotty, Skyler and Andrew Rhodes, Christina, English and Jordyn Sanders, and Daustin Gosnell; two adopted great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kaden Mast; and two great-grandchildren to be born in the fall. Also surviving are two brothers, Jack (Carolyn) Breeden and Jerry (Shirley) Breeden, both of Plymouth; a sister, Mary (Charles) Wike of Macomb; a brother-in-law, John (Karen) Henson of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Rose (Dick) Carle of LaPrairie; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Max Breeden; his mother and father-in-law, Betty and James Henson; and a nephew, Mark Carle.
