MONROE CITY, Mo. -- Brother Pat (Glen) Kendrick, 81, OFM, of Dittmer, formerly of Monroe City, died Thursday morning (March 21, 2013) in St. Germaine Friary in Dittmer. He was born on July 29, 1931, in Ralls County, a son of Lambert and Hazel Madden Kendrick. Brother Pat entered the Franciscan Order on Sept. 8, 1954, at the St. Paschals Brothers School at Westmont, Ill. On Feb. 11, 1955, he received the Franciscan tertiary habit at St. Joseph Seminary in Westmont, and entered the Franciscan novitiate in 1957. In 1958, he took his first vows of the order. He made his solemn vows June 22, 1961, at Our Lady of Angels in Cleveland, Ohio. Survivors include one brother, Timothy (Janice) Kendrick of Monroe City; one nephew, Pat Kendrick; nieces, Tonette (Brian) Long, and Janet Devlin, all of Monroe City, Shelly (Gary) Mitchell of Waxhaw, N.C., Christie (Dwight) Hoskins of Olathe, Kan., and Melissa Kendrick of Payson, Ill.; several great-nieces and great-nephews who lovingly call, referring to him as Uncle Uncle Pat; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mike Kendrick; and a great-niece, Sarah Kendrick. SERVICES: A wake at 10 a.m. Saturday, and funeral at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, St. Louis. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, St. Louis. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. April 13 in Holy Rosary Church in Monroe City.
