MOUNT STERLING, Ill. -- Elizabeth E. Still, 81, of Mount Sterling, died at 5:40 a.m. Monday (March 25, 2013) at her residence.

She was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Mount Sterling, a daughter of Charles (Bert) and Ida Bauch Cory. She married Wayne Still on June 4, 1950, in Mount Sterling First United Methodist Church; and he died Nov. 29, 2004.

She attended Mount Sterling Grade School and graduated from Mount Sterling High School with the class of 1949. Upon graduating, she began working in the Brown County Circuit Clerk and Recorder's Office and then worked at the Brown County Treasurer's Office for 27 years, retiring in 1998.

Mrs. Still was a member of Mount Sterling First United Methodist Church. Elizabeth enjoyed the farm life and loved cooking for and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include six children, Sharon Giles and her husband, Frank, of Paloma, Cynthia Wort of Quincy, Janet Still of Mount Sterling, Debbie Still of Versailles, Steven Still and his wife, Tammy, of Mount Sterling and Kim Still of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Clint Still and his wife, Teresa, Becky Wort, Todd Giles and his wife, Heather, Traci Giles and Nick, Chelsea and Hanna Still; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Still and Levi and Graci Giles; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Emma and Ashton Conner; one brother-in-law, Fred Still and his wife, Betty; and one sister-in-law, Jan Still; special friends Vickie, Tina, Carl, Tyler and Jeremy; and many several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Andrew Still; one son-in-law, David Wort; one brother-in-law, Robert Still; one nephew, Kevin Still; and one half-brother, Warren Cory.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Sterling First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Connie Jenkins conducting. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mount Sterling, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.

MEMORIALS: Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, Riley Cemetery or Mount Sterling First United Methodist Church.
