LIBERTY, Ill. -- Claire E. Fischer, 85, of 2368 N. 800th Ave., died Saturday (March 23, 2013) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy. She was born July 10, 1927, in Chicago, a daughter of Fred and Pearl Law. She married Floyd O. Fischer on Nov. 30, 1946, in Oak Park. He died March 9, 2006. Mrs. Fischer was a medical technologist for Blessing Hospital and the Quincy Medical Group throughout the years. She graduated from Oak Park High School and Carthage College. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church. Along with her husband, Claire enjoyed traveling. She was also an avid gardener. However, her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their various activities. She is survived by two daughters, Nona Steffen and her husband, Ron, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Holly Knuffman and her husband, Rick, of Streator; a son-in-law, Norman Still; 10 grandchildren, David Still and his wife, Laura, Mark Still and his wife, Missy, Stacy Duke and her husband, Jason, Monica Kiley, Ron Steffen and his wife, Robynn, Nathan Knuffman and his wife, Hallie, Erin Knuffman, Ryan Knuffman and his wife, Mandy, Joe Knuffman and his wife, Jenna, and Luke Knuffman; and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Claire was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marilyn Still and Paula Knuffman; and a son-in-law, Joe Knuffman. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Thursday in Liberty Christian Church. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, Quincy.
