WEST POINT, Ill. -- Adeline H. Tobias, 82, of West Point, died at 2:49 a.m. Friday (April 5, 2013) in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Adeline was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Bear Creek Township, Hancock County, a daughter of Henry and Frieda Fecht Huls. On March 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to Johnnie Tobias in Immanuel Lutheran Church near Basco. Adeline was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served as the ice cream social chairman for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She had a great love for her family and the Lord. Adeline is survived by her husband, Johnnie, of West Point; five children, Pauline (Eli) Shirey of Carthage, Duane (Peggy) Tobias of Lorraine, Gloria (Bill) Wavering of Palm Bay, Fla., Bill (Linda) Tobias of Carthage and Jeff (Terri) Tobias of Augusta; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Glen, in 1983; and two sisters in infancy. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church near Basco.
