PAYSON, Ill. -- Lora V. Hendricks Dyer Bagley, 74, of Independence, Mo., died in her home on Nov. 26, 2012, surrounded by her children. Born Oct. 2, 1938, in Jacksonville, she was the only child of Fred and Theresa Hendricks. Lora as a small child lived in St. Louis and then when she was in the first grade she moved with her family to Richfield. Lora attended the Richfield one-room school. She had many fond memories of the school that she loved sharing with her children. She would always tell how she had to go home for lunch. Her home was located where her family ran Hendricks Mercantile in Richfield, just down the hill from the school. Lora was a 1956 graduate of Payson Seymour High School. Before moving out of the area in 1980, she owned the Pike County Credit Bureau in Pittsfield. Lora was united in marriage to William Lawrence Dyer on Nov. 16, 1957, in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty. They lived in Richfield for many years where the store was located. Then on Aug. 7, 1980, she was united in marriage to Harlin Bagley in Las Vegas. Harlin died on Aug. 1, 2005. Lora and Harlin made their home in Brookfield, Mo., then later moving to Independence, Mo., where Lora lived at the time of her death. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Lora received some of the highest honors that one can receive in the Loyal Order of the Moose. Lora was also a member of the Independence (Mo.) Democrats. Lora worked to help many running for election in the Independence area. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Teresa Ann (Dean) Thompson of Payson, JoAnne Marie (Michael Johnson) Dyer, and William Lawrence (Rita Lackey) Dyer, both of Independence; a stepson, Joey (Angel) Bagley of Independence; two grandchildren, James Robert Drew Jr. and Jena Lora Drew, both of Sterling; a stepgrandson, Daniel Thompson of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and a former son-in-law, James Drew of Sterling. SERVICES: Celebration of life luncheon will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Payson Town Hall in Payson hosted by the family. The family would like to extend an invitation to all who knew Lora and her family to help them celebrate Lora's life. Funeral service was held Nov. 29 in Independence, Mo. Private burial service was held Nov. 30 in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield, Mo. ARRANGEMENTS: D. W. Newcomer's Sons, Independence, Mo.
